What to Expect from Your Wedding Photography Experience with Me

Created by Ali Coşkunfrom the Noun Project

Hey there! First off, congratulations on your engagement! Wedding planning can be such a mix of emotions…excitement, stress, happiness, and maybe even a little panic. Trust me, as a Montana wedding photographer, I get it. But you’ve made it here, so let’s check one thing off your list: finding a wedding photographer who’s the right fit for you (and what to expect from your wedding photography experience as a whole)!

I’ve been behind the camera since I was 12 (yes, 12!) and have been in the wedding game for almost a decade. My passion for photography has only grown over the years, and I’m still just as obsessed with capturing raw, emotional moments as I was when I was a kid photographing bugs in my backyard.

My style? Think moody, timeless, and full of life, like a snapshot straight out of a love story. I’m here to capture every laugh, tear, and look that makes your day yours, while making sure you feel supported and stress-free throughout the whole process.

Let’s dive into what to expect from your wedding photography experience with me!

What to Expect from Your Wedding Photography Experience With Me

My Unique Style and Approach

When it comes to photography, my style is anything but cookie-cutter. I lean toward a darker, moodier vibe with a vintage-inspired, documentary-style wedding photography feel.

If you’re dreaming of photos that look like a mix of art and real-life magic, then we might just be soulmates! I love using nature as we have trees, cliffs, waterfalls, or even cloudy skies as my backdrop to create dramatic, stunning shots. Boho vibes? Yes, please. Rustic barns? I’m there. Golden hour sunsets? My heart’s doing a happy dance just thinking about it.

But it’s not just about the location. I also love experimenting with creative techniques to make your gallery stand out. Prisms, copper rings, double exposures, reflections, heck, I’ve even used pantyhose for a cool effect.

These little tricks add a unique touch that makes your photos feel artistic and timeless. And don’t worry, I promise they won’t look staged or forced. If you want to know what to expect from your wedding photography, then my goal is to capture the real, unposed emotions!

The Wedding Day Experience

On your wedding day, you’ve got enough on your plate. My job is to make sure photography is one less thing you have to stress about. I’m all about preparation, because let’s face it, weddings are unpredictable, and I like to be ready for anything.

I’ll show up with not just one but two full-frame cameras, a variety of professional lenses, and backups for everything. Batteries, memory cards, lighting, you name it, I’ve got it covered. Oh, and I also offer a drone and a photo booth as an add-on for those extra wow-factor shots or fun reception moments!

Lighting can make or break a photo, so I use both natural and off-camera flash to ensure your pictures are always on point. Whether it’s a sunlit ceremony or a reception in a dimly lit barn, I know how to make every setting shine.

From the tiniest details, like your rings and flowers, to the big moments, like your first dance or the look on your partner’s face as you walk down the aisle, I’m there to capture it all. I’ll work my butt off to make sure nothing gets missed. That is what to expect from your wedding photography experience with me!

The Editing Process and Final Gallery

Once your wedding day is over, my job is far from done. I’m a total perfectionist when it comes to making sure your gallery is consistent, high-quality, and filled with emotion.

Each image is carefully curated and edited to match my signature moody, dramatic style. If the tones are even slightly off or a photo isn’t as sharp as it could be, I’ll tweak it until it’s just right.

After the editing process, you’ll receive your full gallery within 10 weeks. I’ll send it to you via a private link, so you can easily download, share, and print your photos. But because I know waiting is the hardest part, I’ll also send a few sneak peeks within the first week or two.

The best part of what to expect from your wedding photography with me? Your final gallery will be more than just photos, it’ll be a collection of your best memories!

Step-by-Step Process for Working Together

Here’s a little breakdown of how we’ll work together from start to finish:

Step 1: Choose Your Date and Package

Once you’ve got your wedding date in mind, reach out to me! We’ll chat about the wedding photography package and add-ons that fit your vision. If your date is flexible, I’ll help you find one where I’m available.

Step 2: Make Things Official

When you’re ready to book, I’ll send over a contract and invoice. Once your deposit is paid and the contract is signed, your date is locked in, and you can officially cross “hire wedding photographer” off your to-do list!

Step 3: Schedule Your Engagement Session

This is where we’ll get to know each other better and break the ice before the big day. I’ll guide you through everything, so don’t worry if you’ve never done this before. Plus, these photos are perfect for save-the-dates or your wedding website!

Step 4: Fill Out Your Questionnaire and Create Your Timeline

Shortly after booking, I’ll send over a questionnaire to learn all about you two as a couple. We’ll also create a photo timeline to make sure your wedding day flows smoothly and every important moment is captured.

Step 5: Final Prep

As your wedding day gets closer, I’ll check in to finalize details, go over the timeline, and create a family shot list. I’m here for any last-minute questions, vendor recommendations, or tips to help everything go smoothly.

Step 6: The Big Day!

I’ll arrive early to scout the venue, capture your details, and check in with you. From there, it’s time to relax, soak in the moment, and say “I do”. I’ll be there every step of the way, camera in hand, ready to capture all the magic.

And at this point, you will know exactly what to expect from your wedding photography!

Step 7: Receive Your Gallery

After your wedding, I’ll send you a few sneak peeks while you’re still basking in that newlywed glow. Then, your final gallery will be delivered within 6–8 weeks, ready for you to relive all the memories!
