Matt and Valerie’s Montana winter engagement session was BEAUTIFULLLL!!! We were able to take a little hike back through the woods in the Rattlesnake of Missoula, MT. There’s a river and tons of tall pine trees. We ended at the hillside where we got some awesome snow covered mountain views and such a pretty sunset! If you know me, you know I love playing around with different effects, prisms, silhouettes etc. and we were able to do all of those! I love fresh snow SO much and we got it. Valerie may have been a bit numb after wearing a dress, but she looked so cute! As always, I love fedora hats to add in and flannels, sweaters and jeans are all winter essentials. So they totally nailed the look.
Engagement sessions are so important before a wedding day and even if that means you have to endure some winter weather, it’s totally worth it. It gives us time to get to know each other, for me to understand how you guys interact together, and help you to feel super comfortable behind the camera. You never have to perform, pose yourself, or try to pretend. I want everything to flow naturally and truly show your personalities. I approach my sessions pretty casually and will give you prompts to make you feel like you’re not even taking pictures. If you’re down for playing around, getting moving, snuggling a bit, and being goofy, then it’ll be a breeze! These two started a bit unsure, but eased into it so quick. They are so perfect together and we had so much fun.
